Description
JML Engineering was awarded Nursing Station Foundation Wall Rehabilitation at the Pikangikum First Nation in June 2019 after a poorly performing foundation wall was discovered. The project scope included an engineering assessment, report, design of repairs, tendering and contract administration.
The project was initiated with a field investigation inspect the building and determine the root cause of the poorly performing foundation wall.
A Pre-Design Report was completed outlining the findings of the site visit, recommended repairs and providing a construction cost estimate. Strengthening of the wood foundation walls was required as well as a new foundation waterproofing system.
Detailed design was completed and drawings were prepared showing the extent of the repairs. The project was tendered to contractors in January 2020 and substantially complete in November 2020.
