Sewer and Water Upgrades Township of Red Rock

Sewer and Water Upgrades Township of Red Rock

Description

JML Engineering was awarded the Sewer and Water Upgrades on Brompton Road, Stadler Avenue and Newton Avenue from the Town of Red Rock in May of 2021.  The scope of the project included a new sanitary sewer, new storm sewer, new watermain, watermain looping and watermain relining.  JML Engineering completed total project management services for this project.

The project was initiated with a geotechnical investigation to evaluate suspected weak, saturated and clayey soil substrate conditions.  A topographic survey and manhole condition assessment was completed by JML Engineering.  Camera inspection of all sewers was completed as part of the field work process.

The project included 720 metres of road reconstruction, which provided new PVC watermain, PVC storm sewer, PVC sanitary sewer, service connections, manholes, catch basins, curb/gutter and new asphalt.  Watermain looping was also completed to improve flow characteristics.  Also included was cement mortar relining of watermains on three adjacent streets which required a temporary potable water system to be maintained throughout the entire exercise.

The field work and detailed design was completed in 2021 with the construction work starting on the road reconstruction in May 2022 and being substantially complete in November 2022.  Watermain relining work was completed in June of 2022.  JML Engineering provided full-time site inspection services for the duration of construction.
